Heinous crime: Rape suspect sent on judicial remand

Sheeda confessed to having relationship with the girl for a couple of months but did not say that he had raped her.

ISLAMABAD: A judge on Tuesday sent a suspect arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Rimsha Colony in sector H-9/2. Civil judge Adnan Jamil sent the suspect, ‘Sheeda’ to Adiala Jail on two-week judicial remand and directed the police to produce him on October 17. On September 22, the Industrial Area police had registered a first information report against the suspect in response to a complaint filed by A. Masih, the victim’s father, for allegedly raping his daughter. According to the police, Sheeda, an employee of a milk man, had confessed to having relationship with the girl for a couple of months but did not say that he had raped her. When contacted, IO Muhammad Ashraf said that the situation will be clear after the detailed medical report was received.
