Khawaja Asif was traveling from London to New York on an American Airlines flight AA-107.
Express News correspondent Naseem Siddiqui reported that the minister had received his boarding pass, but was stopped during subsequent screening.
Reports indicated that airport authorities put Asif and his luggage through another screening process and let him through after removing some alleged prohibited items from his luggage.
Later, however, the minister clarified on Twitter that he was carrying two bottles of cologne, and contrary to reports of confiscation, he was allowed to carry them.
Two bottles of cologne were checked because they were in my hand carry... nothing was stopped, they let me carry it... (1/2)

I love cologne. Love to splash bits of it in a nice glass with or without water. Never soda.
It smells great and while it may not attract the ladies, they certainly begin to look attractive after couple of splashes.
You go, Minister! Don't listen to these twitter trolls.
@Rex Minor good to see your name after a long time....you were missed!
Why two bottles? Was one not enough? After all Eu de cologne is not harmless, carrying it in the cabin?
Rex Minor
he travelling so frequently to London...he was so ignorant the any thing which has pressure..like perfume or cologne are not even allowed in luggage

Correction needed from ET.
@Ali:
Corrections Ali...Corrections .....
He would have never allowed police in Pakistan to remove the items from his bag.
He would have never passed through any screening in Pakistan.
These extraordinary human beings only bow down in front of white skin.
These extraordinary Humans are grabbed pushed from the back of their necks to bowdown by the white skin
what a stupid thing to do! doesn't he know he cannot carry any liquid bottle over a 100ml in flights?! and then tweeting about it proving he is that DUMB to do it!
@Ali: Well said Ali. That's the point. Nonetheless, K. Asif does not look like a bad person.
Pakistanis.......we do not consider the brown skin as equals and look down upon it. But the white skin..........we look up to it and beg on our knees. Nevertheless, Pakistanis must stop going to the west and go east with a bagful of manners and courtesies. This is more helpful and savory. Salams
Khawaja Asif should have been aware that a passenger is not allowed to carry liquids of any kind in carry- on baggage, other than stuff you buy from duty free shops. He must have been stopped before entry into transit lounge, because there you can purchase any item and carry them to aircraft.
He must be kidding. Two bottles of cologne is not a problem here. The quantity is usually the problem. You can carry 100 ml (my best guess) of perfume In sealed plastic bags. This is legal in most European and North American countries.i think he is trying to cover up something more sinister when he said " they let me carry them ".If someone is carrying them.......they are politely reminded that a passenger is not allowed to carry them on board and that these items can be legally placed in checked baggages. I hope the UK police release the real reason for stopping him.
@Ali: In Pakistan every screening agencies at airports are members of their concubines. It's the white airports which gives them the real glimpse of their personal worth.
ET, what do you mean by inverted commas? You are a group of educated, well-traveled people, don't you know colognes are not allowed in hand carry more than a certain limit and as per international air travel laws only one bottle of 100ml cologne is permitted? On top of that liquor is not prohibited in UK/ USA. Why would they stop KAsif on carrying liquor?
We are a disgraceful people with no shame and respect for someone's privacy. We are a judgmental bunch and deserve all discrimination towards us. It is sad to see such character assassination and mudslinging.
@ ET - No apparent need for the story. Please contribute towards serious issues.
Anything more than 100ml is not allowed in a hand luggage at Heathrow. Otherwise also all liquids, make up foundation even, less than 100ml needs to be carried in a clear bag for display.
A lesson learnt ( I hope ). Don't take your position for granted. Ignorance of rules is no excuse.
One has to wonder at the maturity of ET and its reporting staff!!! Only a LOSER would try to sensationalize this to score points. Mr Sehbai is another great example of such LOSERS! This type of checking/stoppage at the airport is a commonplace these days. ET staff and Mr Sehbai, GO GET A LIFE!!!
The Minister is correct. So many times, my extra water bottles are taken away. This is a non-issue.
He could also have been carrrying our interior ministers toupe....Or a China made gas generator!
To all those wondering if it was alcohol: that's NOT prohibited in London. It was probably something like scissors or liquids, etc- something no longer allowed in carry-on luggage.
any liquid over 100 ml is prohibited. even water over 100 ml is not allowed at screening time.
Pilot arrested for intoxication ,3 stewards arrested for harassing brithish women during flight..and now Khawaja saheb..before we were known only for producing militants....
Khawaja Asif has clarified it through his twitter: @KhawajaMAsif which states:
"Two bottles of cologne were checked because they were in my hand carry... nothing was stopped, they let me carry it... I am arriving at JFK by AA107 at 20:10, come and check yourself ... thanx! "
We must act responsibly and should confirm the news before spreading.
Was he carrying some gold biscuits hidden among papers?
He may be bringing electricity from UK for Pakistan without obtaining an import licence from British Government.
making news out of nothing. ET
Must be Burnol
He would have never allowed police in Pakistan to remove the items from his bag. This is the difference. These extraordinary human beings only bow down in front of white skin.
"Prohibited Items"??? in Khwaja's Bag, another big stamp on Pakistan's image.
Probably a scissor? Is it really a news? I am sure there are many bigger problems in Pak than Khawaja was stopped in the airport
Its time for bashing (without knowing anything). Ready steady Go!!!
Bro you can get alcohol easily from Pakistan
