At least two people were killed and one was injured on Friday in separate incidents in Karak.
According to Hajat Khan, an official of Teri police station, the first incident occurred in Mashoq Wala. A man identified as Zar Gul was allegedly captured and tortured by his opponents who then killed him and dumped his body in Teri. “The men had an old dispute,” said Khan, adding police rushed to the site and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy.
Khan further said in another incident in Teri, unidentified men opened fire at Amjad, killing him on the spot. “A passer-by identified as Pio Gul was also injured in the shooting,” added Khan.
FIRs of both incidents could not be registered because the families of the deceased did not file them.
On September 7, a private security company guard escorting Oil and Gas Development Company Limited water tankers was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Hazara Kandao area of Karak.
A case was registered and police launched a search operation soon after, however, the culprits remain at large.
