“Hakimullah Mehsud talked to me about the Taliban prisoner issue around 10am,” said Paracha while speaking to The Express Tribune.
Contradicting Paracha's statement, TTP spokesperson said that Hakimullah Mehsud didn't talk to anyone on the phone and denied that he had talked to Paracha.
"Paracha is a politician. He might have his own motives behind the whole issue," said Shahidullah Shahid, adding that Hakimullah did not use the phone and could not have called Paracha.
Paracha said that the TTP chief had handed over a list of Taliban inmates who were being held in various prisons across the country.
Paracha said that he had gone to Adiala Jail with the approval of the government and had verified that 50 Taliban inmates were being held there. The former MNA said that he spent two hours at the jail to discuss the issue.
He further said that he was gathering information about Taliban inmates in Peshawar, Multan and Quetta as well.
“I came into contact with Hakimullah Mehsud around 2pm again and shared the details with him,” confirmed Paracha, adding that the TTP chief said they will convey their response after discussing the matter with the Taliban Shura.
Paracha said that he had not been designated mediator by the government or the Taliban. He added that if both parties trusted him and wanted him to play the role, he was ready to do so.
“For the sake of the country and the province (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa), I am ready for the role of mediator if I am asked for it to do so,” he added.

i think PML-N wants to hire all these prisoners to secure themselves..as they know there corrupt police officials can are not trust worthy
@wafaq: I guess you might provide a link to it to check the veracity of your claim.
Is Javed Pracha presenting Pakistan or the Talibans?
I am amazed, how 'normal' things still are between the taliban and the Govt. after the shameful attack on the officers of army's top brass. These so called leaders dont have any sort of shame or honour. Killers are handling over their demands to you and killing your people, thousands of them. This is so shameful, so so much shameful.
There is a story on another website that TTP has denied the contact with former MNA. How ET is not updating us?
releasing killers of 50,000 innocents by government would be a slap on soldiers efforts and citizens sacrifices. I am completely hopeless about future of pakistan because of this coward attitude of government. What a shame !
@Ahmad_SE its common sense and lesson from history, Has Pakistan got mightier army than NATO or US, what did they achieve in Iraq, Afghanistan using that might?
Irony of Fate..A country having military power deals with the militants as their servants. Is it fear or failure????
So an MNA who is not a designated mediator, provided information to TTP in which jail their prisoners are held beside TTP attacked some jails earlier? and jail provided the info without authorization? and He did it in 4 hours? and now proud to do that to tell the media?.. he should be given pride of performance..
@Kaleem:
Point Number 4 is invalid. They have no connection with Afghan Taliban to begin with. Guys with Afghan Taliban connection are in North Waziristan. Mehsud and Co. are in South Waziristan.
qasam say yr m feeling really depressed !!!! they kill us and get released by courts or even if they are sentenced they get freed in the name of peace !!!!!! feeling damn helpless !!!! we should have settled the scores ourselves had we known this is going to happen !!!!
These are important people to them. put these 50 in a line and kill them
First of all, arrest this PML(N) member, Javed Paracha, for confirming prisoner locations on behalf of TTP. Second, who has given the authority to Javed Paracha to conduct these actions specially after Gen Keyani categorically stated that they will not release any prisoners.
PML(N) and the army is on different tracks again and are perfectly aligned for a collision soon.
I want to hear from IK!!! he was the one who is in favor to speak to these filthy Talibans!!! does he still want to talk to them. and what is the guarantee that they will sit on the table and talk once their 50 people are released!
These terrorists should not be released. only option is that Army take a stern action against these Gaddars These (thugs) talibans shura consist of Americans & Indians intelligence agencies
G.Khan
Now you know who is sheltering them. This Mr.Parcha was on Mallick show the other night ,and refused to condemn the killing of Pakistani General and other soldiers. He kept on insisting that TTP are freedom fighters and not terrorists.
If Pakistan hands over these prisoners to TTP, what message it will send to the world community? The world community will conclude that when talibans threaten them and demand them to hand over the country's nuclear arsenal, Pakistan's army and civilian government will comply. Does anyone in the government / army even think on these lines as to the consequences this sort of peace deal and dialogue with the talibans?
The Taliban are of the opinion that they are invincible, because they defeated the Soviets and now the Americans/NATO.
The Taliban have a very poor opinion of Pakistan's defence forces. They think that they can defeat the Pakistan Army easily.
If Pakistan negotiates with Taliban, it will mean the end of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as visualized in the 1973 Constitution.
The silver lining it that maybe the Taliban will be able to provide better governance than what we have been seeing for the past 20 years.
well if you are bombed from up down and all sides , and if they donot take arms against those serving the interests of the united states....what could the other possibility be....
They don't want to talk. Release of prisoners should be somewhere after the success of the dialouge. If they are not willing to bring peace to the country & province, they should be crushed with full power. Don't waste time anymore.
absolutely disgusting, what a joke this government is!
MashAllah. Glad to know that PMLN has links and friendship with all the militants including LEJ and TTP. That's why Sharifs frequenctly request Taliban not to Attack Punjab :)
We need to issue a general amnesty to military, paramilitary and police forces for a two year period and protect them from UN scrutiny to go and exterminate these murderers in and out of their homes without warrant or trial.
Why Taliban always contact PML-N, PTI or Diseal.????????They always kill MQM,PPP and ANP....who are traitors is anybodies guess.....
What an irony, a member parliament is sharing lists of terrorist with a person who is killer of thousands of innocent pakistani's and the worst part is that he is feeling proud of this achievement. Shame on you
Releasing prisoners are often part of negotiations or agreements, but this should be the last step to be taken by govt, ONLY IF:
1) Taliban surrenders themselves to writ of government, and live like law abiding citizens. 2) Send all foreigners and Al-Qaeda terrorists back from FATA. 3) Agree to not ask for release of those involved in major attacks which involved heavy lives loss. 4) Break their connection with Afghan Taliban or atleast practically.
Is it me or the guy reminds me of Jimmy Shergill in Maachis .. Chappa Chappa Charkhaa Challay !!
I do not consider this peace if they are released, I consider this as an impotency of successive governments and more than that, I will blame the so called spy agencies who know nothing to save this country from these barbaric elements with their competence.
Insert some sort of GPS tracking devices in these prisoners bodies if we are to set them free.
Now that Govt has the list, it should conduct mass capital punishments on all the prisoners to send a clear message. Let us not negotiate from a position of weakness.
This is only topi drama. The only solution is to use force against them.
Govt should not release the prisoners nor they should share any type of information about the prisoners otherwise get ready for another prison attack.
