Nose chopped off: LHC seeks report on mutilation

The report had said police had registered a case but made no arrests.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought a judge's report about a woman’s nose allegedly being chopped off for resisting rape in Khanewal. The LHC directed the Khanewal district and sessions judge to investigate the matter and submit a report on the police investigation. The press reported that local landlord Rana Israr had tried to rape the woman and mutilated her when she resisted. She was taken to the district headquarters hospital. The report had said police had registered a case but made no arrests.
