
Pakistan women’s team slumped to 20th place on the second day of the World Bridge Team Championships Venice Cup 2013 in Bali yesterday.
The team began its campaign in the championship with a win against Egypt on Tuesday, but lost the other two matches and concluded day one in 15th position out of 22 teams.
They hoped to improve their rank on day two, but lost the opening match to Turkey in the fourth round, and then to Netherlands in the following match. Consequently, finishing the day in 20th position with a defeat against China in the sixth round. Pakistan now have 37.04 VPs in the championship after six rounds.
