Enforcing the law: Three suspected gangsters killed

Police officials said that the raid was conducted at the den of notorious Lyari gangster, Jabbar alias Jabbar Jhengu.

KARACHI: At least three suspected members of the Lyari gang war were killed during an alleged encounter with the police in Lyari on Wednesday evening. The encounter occurred in Shah Baig Lane area, Lyari within the limits of Baghdadi police station. Police officials said that the raid was conducted at the den of notorious Lyari gangster, Jabbar alias Jabbar Jhengu, after receiving reports of his presence at the site. “He added that, during the exchange of fire, the police and Rangers managed to arrest nine suspects, including three who were critically injured. The injured were later shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. The deceased were identified as Noman aka Nomi Patni, Imran Chauhan and Abdul Ghaffor Kutchi.
