The SC bench was hearing the Balochistan law and order case on Monday at the Supreme Court’s Quetta registry. Earlier the court had ordered Frontier Corps IG to present the missing persons of 61 cases.
However on Monday, neither any missing person nor the Frontier Corps IG was present in the court. The court directed additional attorney general (AAG) to contact the IG and ask him to present the missing persons before the bench.
However when the hearing resumed, the AAG informed the court that the IG was out of reach.
The court strongly reacted to this reply. The CJ remarked that if this attitude was continued, the court would pass a result-oriented order. “There is no respect for the judiciary here. Nobody can believe that contact is not possible with the IG, especially in this era where wireless, satellite phone and other facilities are available,” he added.
