MANSEHRA:

Proclaimed offender Syed Gul Badshah was the victim of extrajudicial killing, said his family on Sunday, demanding a judicial inquiry.

At a news conference in Mansehra, Badshah’s mother Shufaida Bibi and brother Syed Chan Shehzada accused the Mansehra police for murdering Badshah at the behest of their rival group.

Three weeks ago, Mansehra police gunned down Syed Gul Badshah within the limits of Khaki. The police claimed Badshah was a criminal involved in a number of felonies who had been pursued by the police for the last two years.

According to his family, on the day of his death, Badshah was on his way home to Neelor when four policemen in plain clothes shot him. They moved his body to a forest where the police claimed they shot him because he and a rival group were shooting at each other. His family added the fake encounter was carried out at the request of their rivals. They demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan order a judicial probe.
