Chief Minister Pervez Khattak suspended the medical superintendent (MS) of Nasirullah Khan Babar Memorial Hospital, Kohat Road on Friday night over poor performance and negligence. He was paying a surprise visit to the hospital. Accompanied by Provincial Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Adviser to Chief Minister Yasin Khalil and MPA Arif Yousuf, CM Khattak inspected various parts of the hospital including the casualty, medical ward, X-Ray laboratory and operation theatre. He took notice of unhygienic conditions in the operation theatre and the overall sanitation and cleanliness situation of the hospital and then ordered the suspension of the hospital MS. Upon discovering that some of the staff members were not present at their duties, the CM asked the administration to show attendance registers and other records of the hospital staff, but the administration failed to show any proper record. Khattak then ordered the management to come to his office along with all the records of the hospital so that action could be taken against negligent and absent staffers.
