LANDI KOTAL:

A loaded vehicle supplying goods to Nato troops stationed in Afghanistan was torched by unidentified militants in Landikotal, Khyber Agency on Thursday.

Levies official Swalzar Khan said two vehicles loaded with supplies for foreign troops in the neighbouring country broke down in Sado Khel, Landikotal tehsil late Wednesday evening. The drivers informed the tehsil’s political administration and requested help.

Khasadar and levies officials managed to shift one of the vehicles to Michini checkpoint, but were unable to move the other container. Around 3am on Thursday, khasadar officials deployed in the area reported militants had torched the container which had been left on the road.

Heavy contingents of levies and khasadar personnel rushed to the site and launched a search operation. The Nato container was completely destroyed in the incident, shared Khan.
