PESHAWAR:

Former federal minister and provincial leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Lal Muhammad Khan on Thursday criticised Imran Khan for “interfering” in the administrative affairs of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

Speaking to journalists at the Peshawar Press Club, Lal Muhammad said Imran Khan was interfering in the provincial government’s affairs by issuing directives to ministers, secretaries and other functionaries. “Reports have emerged in the media regarding the chief minister (CM) and his cabinet, indicating they are helpless in taking any action without the permission of the party’s (PTI) chairman.”

“He (Khattak) is an honest and dedicated chief executive of this province,” said Muhammad, urging Khan to “let Khattak do his job.”  Lal Muhammad also ‘advised’ the CM to induct MPAs Shakeel Khan and Junaid Akbar in the cabinet.

Pledging his complete support for a Hazara province, the former minister said provinces should be created on administrative basis. “I also suggested former president Asif Ali Zardari to make Malakand division into a province,” he added. Lal Muhammad maintained the government needs to send the army back to the barracks for the protection of regions closer to the border.
