LAHORE: Ombudsman Javed Mahmood on Wednesday took notice of a news item about quacks and sought a report from the health secretary about efforts made to curb their activities.

The report had said that 15,000 quacks were active in the province. In a letter written by Ombudsman’s Health Advisor Rana Amanullah Khan, the health secretary has been reminded of an earlier letter (dated April 15) on the same issue. It said that the ombudsman’s office, had recommended enactment of a law banning quackery.
