Arrangements: Preparations underway for cattle market

A makeshift cattle market will be set up from September 16 to October 16 to help the people of Karachi and nearby towns fulfil their religious obligation of sacrificing animals this Eidul Azha.


At a meeting on Tuesday, representatives of relevant departments discussed the arrangements made for the facility planned to be located on Super Highway near New Sabzi Mandi.

It was decided that foolproof arrangements would be made for security, uninterrupted power supply, parking, public toilets, traffic management, availability of quality food and water at authorised stalls of the market.

The Sindh livestock department and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s veterinary unit would ensure that only healthy animals are sold in the market.
