The suggestion was put forward by a CHC delegation led by Yunus Qiasi which met Parliamentary Secretary of Culture and Sports Arif Yusuf and proposed several recommendations for the preservation of culture, art and literature in the province.

Other recommendations included hoisting the portraits of cultural and literary figures who have contributed to art, literature, cultural and social welfare of the people in public squares of the province and naming these squares after them.
The delegation also recommended the government to devise a censor board for movies and tele-dramas produced in the city. CHC noted the province does not have any censor board despite producing a large number of films.
The parliamentary secretary ensured the CHC team the provincial government would take all possible steps to preserve culture and heritage of not only Peshawar, but of the entire province. He added they will soon visit Dilip Kumar’s house in regard to the council’s request.
