PESHAWAR: Earthquake tremors of a moderate intensity shook the residents of Peshawar and its surrounding areas on Sunday night, reported Express News.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.6 on the Richter scale, reported Express News. No damage or loss was reported.

The quake, whose tremors have been reported from as far as Chitral, Dir and other areas, reportedly has its epicenter in the Hindu Kush range.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported the magnitude earthquake as 5.2 and Farkhar region of Afghanistan as its epicenter which is 627 kilometers away from Peshawar.

The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa province is naturally susceptible to earthquakes, considering the expanse of mountain ranges it hosts.

Last month, tremors of 5.3 magnitude were felt in areas of KP, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and northern Punjab.
