Tennis: Mudassir clinches Top City Junior title

Top seed Mudassir Murtaza clinched the Top City National Junior Ranking Tennis Championship U18 singles title as he defeated second-seed Arham Atiq 6-3, 6-3 at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad yesterday.


Muzammil Murtaza won the boys’ U14 singles event, defeating second-seed Talha Bin Asif 6-1, 6-0 in just 50 minutes. Mudassir and Muzammil also won the doubles event when they outclassed Muhammad Ahmed and Zaid Mujahid 4-6, 6-4, 11-9.

In other matches, top seed Mahin Aftab lifted the trophy in the girls’ U18 singles event, when she outplayed her elder sister Alina 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
