ISLAMABAD:

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is facing problems in collecting data of domestic servants and private security guards due to the non-cooperation of the capital’s residents.

NADRA started compiling the data on the directive
of the interior minister in June, said an official on Wednesday.

He said the authority in its door-to-door campaign had registered around 5,000 domestic servants in the capital.

He added registration forms were given to homeowners in a bid to receive complete details about their domestic servants.

The forms were to be collected back after three days. NADRA took measures to complete the project in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority and constituted teams for this purpose.

Each team comprised a project in-charge, three data operators and a driver.  However, the pace of work was slow. The teams could only collect less than 40 per cent of data in a month due to the residents’ lack of cooperation, particularly in posh localities, said the officer.

He said the government had enforced legally-binding measures mandating the provision of mandatory data from residents.
