Charsadda : Rocket explodes outside mosque

CHARSADDA: A rocket planted by unidentified militants exploded outside a mosque in Khanmahi, Charsadda on Tuesday, however, no human loss occurred.

According to Khanmahi police station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Murad Khan, the police control room informed him about the explosion and he rushed to the spot. “Militants had hidden three rockets in a pile of garbage in front of Khanano Masjid, out of which one went off,” he said. Khan informed the bomb disposal squad (BDS) officials who arrived and successfully defused the remaining two rockets. Meanwhile, four explosions occurred in Sher Bahadur Kallay when bombs planted at the lattices of a 132 kilovolt electricity tower exploded, destroying it.

Saeed said it had been planted to target policemen who would have arrived after the first explosion. An FIR has been filed.
