An anti terrorism court (ATC) on Monday directed the police to submit charge sheets on September 6 against five suspects in the failed Bhara Kahu suicide bombing attempt.
The police brought five alleged accomplices of the suicide bomber, jailed on August 18, to the ATC on Monday amid tight security after the completion of two-week judicial remand. The ATC judge asked the police to submit the charge sheets in the next hearing and adjourned the matter till September 6.
The suspects — Hidayatullah, Muhammad Saddam, Muhammad Wali, Mahwish Amjad, and a 14-year-old boy — were arrested by the Islamabad Police on August 11 from a house located on Simly Dam Road, where they were believed to have planned the Eid-day attack on Masjid Ali Ibne Abi Talib.
They are charged with facilitating the would-be suicide bomber who failed to detonate his vest and died in an exchange of fire with Amin Hussain, a mosque guard who also lost his life.
Kanwal Sikander bail hearing delayed
