PU: Trials for sports admissions begin

LAHORE: Punjab University’s Department of Sports has begun holding trials for sports based admissions in Lahore, Gujranwala and Jhelum campuses for male candidates to four-year BS Hons BCom, BBA, BFA, BBIT programmes; LLB, MCom, MBA and MFA; and Pharm-D, BSc engineering/chemical/electrical among other degree programmes. On Monday, the department conducted trials for cricket at the New Campus ground. More than 1,000 candidates took part in the trials. Sports Director Mansoor Sarwar, Former Test Cricketer Amir Sohail and Javed Zaman were present on the occasion. The Punjab University Examinations Department has notified that the BA/BSc supplementary examination will commence on October 24. The admission forms and fee will be received up till September 5.

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Mujahid Kamran, after approval from the Syndicate, has announced that the newly constructed hostel of School of Biological Sciences for boys would be named after Prof Dr Muhammad Akhtar in recognition of his meritorious services.
