HYDERABAD:

The Hyderabad police have compiled a list of around 200 suspected criminals involved in street crimes, robberies, kidnapping and those who operate gambling and prostitution dens, as reported at the news conference on Sunday.

“So far only 10 per cent of these criminals have been arrested, while the hunt is consistently going on,” said Hyderabad SSP Fida Hussain Mastoi, who assumed the charge over a week ago.

Mastoi has given all the SHOs the list of suspects. “If they want to work, they will have to arrest and put to trial the named suspects,” he said. He failed, however, to provide statistics on reported crimes, which have occurred in the city since the start of this year. He was also lacking details on the number of organised criminal gangs and their havens. “We are identifying and combing the areas where they are allegedly present,” he said, adding that so far Baldia Colony, SITE, Fuleli and Hussainabad are home to considerable criminal elements.
