“The primary reason is that a backlog of unreleased film titles and delays in releases has pushed the whole schedule of cinemas ahead,” Mazhar Zaidi, the director of the film, told The Express Tribune.
The announcement was made through a joint statement by ARY Films, Footprint Entertainment and Matteela Films on August 29.
However, it has been reported that the delay is not from the producer’s end.
Zinda Bhaag stars actor Naseeruddin Shah, model Amna Ilyas and Khurrum Patras and has now been scheduled to release on September 20.

@optimist: Where did you hear that Main Hoon Shahid Afridi has recovered its budget in 5 days? I have heard rumours that the movie budget is 9 Crore and than they have only recovered around 3 Crore so far. Is this correct? I look forward to hearing back from you. Ishaq.

@Travel_Tart: Waar is not being released on September 6 http://reviewit.pk/waar-movie-will-now-release-in-october/ and MHSA has already been released on Aug 21, so it is unclear why Zinda Bhaag could not be released on September 6. Also such a decision can be made by the producer but in this case it does not seem as though the producers wanted the delay.
Very good decision..the movie deserves much more publicity as it is THE film from among the new cinema.
I am pleasantly surprised to read some back-to-back coverage of Pakistani movies on Express Tribune. Always a pleasure to read original stuff too. Now if only the so-called "largest" television channel in the country could take notes too and cover some local entertainment news as well...

@ Ayesha According to my sources in Lahore cinema industry, Main Hoon Shahid Afridi has recovered its budget during first 5 days of release. The report is from Punjab and Karachi (Sindh) circuit and it is still doing well.
Very good decision. I was thinking simultaneous release of MHSA, WAAR and Zinda Bhaag on 6th September will damage their business. . They have wisely releases MHSA earlier, Waar will be on 6th Sep and Zinda Bhaag on 20th... thus giving all films enough time to gain from first two weeks business.
Does anybody know, How much business Main Hoon Shahid Afridi did? Everybody is saying that this movies is a super hit but no one knows the actual numbers?
That's a bummer but well. The movie looks promising though. it has a real art movie feel to it.
