Senior Education and Literacy Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has constituted a provincial curriculum commission which aims to give recommendations for developing a uniform education system.
This was decided at a high-level meeting on Thursday which was attended by Sindh Text Book Board Chairperson Mohammad Rafique, Sindh Text Book Board Secretary Qadir bux Rind, Bureau of Curriculum Director Abdul Majeed and other officials of the education department.
According to Khuhro, the 18th Amendment devolved the education to the provinces but by appointing a State Minister for Education in the federal government, the purpose of autonomy was defeated.
The commission has been constituted to ensure a uniform standard of education and syllabus across all public and private schools in the province, he said. The meeting’s participants were informed that the commission will include writers, intellectuals and education experts.
