LAHORE: Lahore High Court Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh postponed the hearing of a petition against the construction of a parking plaza at Doongi Ground in Gulberg for the third week of September. The judge deferred the hearing on the request of the respondent’s counsel. On August 16, the judge had sought a reply from the Lahore Development Authority director general. The counsel told that they needed more time to file a reply. Faran Rafique Khan, a resident of Gulberg, had moved the petition through his counsel Azhar Siddique. He told the court that the construction was going ahead without permission and in violation of court orders. He said a full bench of the LHC had declared the conversion of Doongi Ground into an IMAX theater illegal on September 16, 2011.
