Safe and sound: Kidnapped child recovered

Police also recovered Rs350,000 that had been paid as ransom .

SHEIKHUPURA: A child kidnapped a month ago has been recovered by the police, District Police Officer (DPO) Humayun Bashir Tarar said on Thursday. Three kidnappers were also arrested. Addressing a press conference along with Muridke DSP Malik Allah Yar and a Narang Mandi police team, the DPO said that Ahsan Ali, 7, son of Mohammad Abbas was kidnapped on July 25. The kidnappers had demanded Rs1 million ransom.  He said Abbas, a labourer, had made an appeal to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to look into the incident. CM Sharif had directed Sheikhupura police to recover the child in a week. On Thursday, the DPO said, the suspects were caught from a house in Ahmed Park in Lahore’s Daroghawala area. The child was recovered safely by a police team led by Narang Mandi Station House Officer Inspector Murtaza Dogar. Police also recovered Rs350,000 that had been paid as ransom .
