PSC Chairman Sardar Ramesh Singh appealed to the president, prime minister, interior minister and Sindh governor to conduct investigations into the incident.
“The disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib is a conspiracy to create abhorrence and disorder among Sikhs and Hindus who have been peacefully living in Sindh,” Ramesh Singh told reporters.
He said that five different incidents of desecration of the holy book took place at the temples in Shikarpur, Pannu Aqil and Dadu.
“These elements are vandalising inter-religious harmony in the country and it is the government’s responsibility to stop this,” he said, adding that shameful incidents have hurt the feelings of Sikh community across the globe and harmed the image of Pakistan.
