Gone missing: Three people allegedly kidnapped

Three people, including two brothers, were reportedly kidnapped by armed men from near Shikarpur on Saturday.

An official at Pir Jo Goth police station told The Express Tribune that Maqbool Memon and Shakeel Memon, sons of Manzoor Memon, had gone to see their in-laws in Madeji, district Shikarpur, on Friday evening. They were accompanied by their driver, Akram Phulpoto. On Saturday morning, they had told their families that they were on their way home. Their cell phones, however, were switched off about half an hour later leading to their parents’ suspicions that they have been kidnapped. The missing persons were residents of Kot Dinal Shah in Pir Jo Goth. Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur media coordinator, Dr Taj Lashari, confirmed that Shakeel was employed as the sports ground supervisor in Plantation and Nursery Department while Maqbool Memon was an office assistant in the office of Project Director.
