Under attack: IED explosion in North Waziristan

No loss of life was reported.

MIRANSHAH: An improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a roadside exploded near a security forces’ convoy on Ghulam Khan Highway in North Waziristan on Sunday. No loss of life was reported, however. According to a security official, the convoy was en route to Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan when the bomb exploded near one of the vehicles. Security officers surrounded the area and initiated a search operation. Meanwhile, in Basya Khel,Bannu, a bomb weighing 11 kilogrammes was planted on a crowded road. It was defused by Bomb Disposal Squad official Was Khan around 10am.
