Helping hand: FPCCI to support Afghan entrepreneurs

FPCCI and IWCCCI have decided to extend all possible support to them, says Malik.

ISLAMABAD: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Islamabad Woman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) here on Friday pledged to support the women entrepreneurship in Afghanistan. The assurance came in a meeting chaired by President FPCCI, Zubair Ahmed Malik, attended by CEO Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan, Najlla Habibyar, President IWCCI Farida Rashid and members of the Pak-Afghan Women Forum. Speaking on the occasion, president FPCCI said that women are some of the most vulnerable members of the Afghan society where there growth as entrepreneurs has been suppressed. Many Afghan businesswomen have not been able to communicate with the market and receive feedback which can improve the quality of their products and open doors to increased opportunities. Therefore FPCCI and IWCCCI have decided to extend all possible support to them, he assured. Malik also asked the international community to help Afghanistan exploit treasures of minerals buried in various parts of the country which can turn around Afghanistan bringing an end to extremism.
