Violators Held: PESCO crackdown on illegal connections

Defaulters have been warned to deposit their dues, otherwise electricity will not be restored.

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) detection team of Shahi Bagh sub-division found several illegal power connections at Zamir Plaza, Pajagi Road and lodged an FIR against the accused in respective police stations.

On the other hand, Pesco recovery teams of Lala sub-division recovered about Rs400,000 from defaulters. The power supply of Achini Ring Road was also disconnected due to non-payment of dues worth Rs350,000 and illegal connections. The power connection of defaulters was disconnected in Shakar Dara, Banda Khazubi village due to non-payment of Rs500,000. Khanzada Kili, Bacha Kili, Jamadar Kili, Khan Pur Kili of Mardan circle are also deprived of electricity now for not paying dues. Defaulters have been warned to deposit their dues, otherwise electricity will not be restored. Due to illegal use of electricity in these areas, the power supply system was severely overloaded, resulting in frequent power breakdowns.
