In the resolution, India was asked to hold dialogue and the firing was strongly condemned.
Captain Sarfaraz, who was killed due to the firing, was presented with a tribute in the same session.
The Pakistan Army has said that one officer was killed and a soldier was wounded by Indian firing along the disputed border in Kashmir on Wednesday.
The Indian army started firing at 11:15pm last night in the Batal, Nakyal areas near Skardu. The Pakistani army retaliated by firing as well. The exchange of bullets continued until 2am.
This is not the first time that Indian forces have been allegedly involved in unprovoked firing or shelling, the LoC that has seen allegations of cross-border firing from both sides in recent weeks.
The attack is the latest in a spate of recent cross-border skirmishes between the two neighbours.
The two sides agreed to a ceasefire along the LoC in November 2003, but skirmishes have flared across the heavily-militarised Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border in Kashmir, in recent weeks, with both sides blaming each other for having violated the agreement.

@chai: I wish you had at least one neutral paper like this over there. I bet it's offices will be burned down the next day. Oh, but you only read Pak papers, how would you know!
"military official handing over a Pakistan military cap, stick and national flag to the father of Pakistani soldier Muhammad Akhlaq, whom the Pakistan military said was killed by Indian soldiers while crossing into the Indian side of Kashmir" this statement clearly shows that pakistani army infiltrate LOC and provide cover to terrorists. finally pakistani accepted the truth.

@Naveen: Actually the photo caption makes it very clear that this was a file photo. Apart from that information, it acknowledges that the soldier was trying to infiltrate - and this is raising a howl of protest from Pakistanis - read it if you have not checked it out.
@GP65 & Wasim:
I second your thoughts. Its sad that decisions are finalized somewhere else and all that these patriotic men get on the ground are 'orders'. For that matter, isn't it true that PA does infiltrate under the disguise of 'mujahids'? What's the crt over ET's photo caption? Facing facts is the first step to reconciliation, kudos ET!
@ waseem sarwar : Its true.. by Indian.
@Waseem Sarwar: I agree with you and Indian. These soldiers are just patriotic people carrying out orders. It is those who give the order that should be questioned. Who started the problem? To answer that, answer which country first lost 5 soldiers?
whom the Pakistan military said was killed by Indian soldiers while crossing into the Indian side of Kashmir. Did he crossed as Mujahedin or in Army fatigue?
On both side, everyone call their deceased soldiers, SHAHEED, with caption " Shaheed Zinda Rehta hae" Picture on both side, ALWAYS a BIG BELLY general, hands over ONE SOTI, ONE TOPI, THAT TOO on flag to father or mother of deceased soldier. What a pity that those old parents never meet again to their "ZINDAA REHTA HAE" Son or daughter. WILL I go to fight anyone? If I am given LOGICAL REASON. But This far, we never had any VALID or LOGICAL REASON TO FIGHT with anyone. Let both sides sit and share a cup of tea than TAKING A PANGAA.
@ET ! You too start being little bit of "QAINCHI e Zia" to censor KUFFARS like me.
@fauji: how better this world will be if we start trolling each other instead of shooting and bombing.
@Kamil Pakistan media specially the english media is pro india
Or perhaps slightly pro truth??
Starting from 1948, 1965, 1971,1999.... Pakistan army starts hostilities as admitted by none other than Pakistan Air Marshal Asghar Khan.
Each time after the tensions are over ( or after you surrender) truth comes out. This time is no different.
@ waseem Sarwar, trolling is not a form of healthy discussion
@fauji: 6 Months to be exact. Raja Muhammad Akhlaq died in Feb 2013 ->

Get soft with indians and they would get tough on us. Get tough with indians and they would get soft with us. 1998 indian nuclear tests are a testimony to that after which indians started abusing Pakistan at every forum only to cange their tone to sweet soft when Pakistan condcuted its tests
@fauji: Its looking old because it is an old picture. It isn't related to recently martyred Captain.
Everyone including me, are busy bashing ET but to their credit, we get a very healthy discussion with our friends/non-friends across the border. I use to go to Indian sites to know their point of view but always had to "report" a lot of comments which were highly abusive which isn't the case with ET.
@chai: So how many newspapers in India do that?
@Indian: Yeah. madness has no country or religion.
@chai: oh. You mean Indian perspective.
The caption doesnt make sense. also why are the soldiers in their jerseys, this picture is at least 8-9 months old.
@Khan-Of-Peshawer: Pakistan media specially the english media is pro india, the proof is that here indians can say anything against Pakistan but ET would not allow a comment hostile to india
But who started the firing ??
Why this type of things always happen whenever civilian government wants to make good relation with India?
@Khan-Of-Peshawer: You summed up nicely. ET does use such biased statements.
I always heard that money talks, only today I got to know that money posts photo captions as well.
A little shame could do a lot of favour to the media of this country, and as a result to this country itself.
How much did you get for posting this photo caption ET??
Caption on the image: Subtle admittance indeed, now you know it.
@what?: Truth can't be hide, it automatically comes out :)
This is where I respect Tribune and Dawn, more than often they report news from a neutral perspective. No venom, no personal opinions.. straight fact. Respect !
What does that photo caption mean ET? Ridiculous.
When the DGMO's of India and Pakistan have a hotline to speak whenever they have to, why is the facility not being used effectively ? Are they not the best people to know what is going on near the LOC ?
enough of condemnation, we need some action now.
Go Pak Army!
""" whom the Pakistan military said was killed by Indian soldiers while crossing into the Indian side of Kashmir"""" what is this ET ??????? seriously you should change your name to Indian Express Tribune, don't you ????
RIP captain. We just can't feel the pain of this old man who lost his son.Families of killed on Indian side would have suffered like him and i just hope we end this madness.
