NEW DELHI:

Alleged terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda was slapped by an onlooker as he was entering the Patiala House Court complex on Tuesday. Another lawyer started shouting slogans against him inside the building.

The police immediately took the two men into custody and remained tight-lipped about the incident.

The police presented Tunda in court to extend his remand for another four days. He was arrested from the India-Nepal border on Friday night and is accused of being involved in many terrorist incidents and the circulation of counterfeit currency. He was listed in India’s most wanted list of terrorists and is allegedly in close contact with Lashkar-e-Taiba chief.

Today’s assault on him was unexpected and security for him has been beefed up.

According to investigators, Tunda revealed during Monday’s interrogation that he indoctrinated young men and trained them in arms and ammunition. Tunda is supposed to have great oratory skills through which he influenced people, especially the youth.

"Today’s assault on him was unexpected and security for him has been beefed up."

Increased security? He should be executed at the earliest instead of keeping him alive. Court proceedings in India are one of the slowest in the world. This person is responsible for destroying the youth of many Indians and Pakistanis.
