Activists of the Awami Workers Party (AWP) vowed to continue their struggle for the rights of the downtrodden on Monday.
They were speaking at an Eid Millan party, organised by the AWP, which is a conglomerate of left-wing parties. They said their commitment for the cause of the underprivileged will continue until they were given their rights.
Punjab AWP General Secretary Aasim Sajjad Akhtar appreciated their commitment to the continuous political struggle. He spoke about the need to build solidarity and work together for the development of the country.
“We may belong to different organisations, but we all have the same long-term goal which is to change this system of oppression and exploitation,” he said.
Ammar Rashid kicked off the event by singing Jago Jago, the Urdu rendition of one of the most popular songs of socialist movements, followed by Faiz’s Intesaab.
