While campaigning for the general elections, Imran was being lifted onto a stage at a rally in Lahore on May 7, when the presence of guards unbalanced him and caused him to fall.
The 60-year-old former cricket star suffered serious injuries including a fractured vertebrae and rib. He was ordered by his doctors to remain immobile in bed for at least three weeks.
The injury prevented him from actively campaigning for the last few days before the elections. It also forced him to miss out on the inaugural session of the newly elected assembly and had to take his oath later.
The PTI chairman was able to return to his full functional capacity after eight weeks.
The incident also raised serious concerns on the larger issue of security arrangements at election rallies.
Express News reported that in order to avoid a repeat of the Lahore incident, organisers at a recent rally in Faisalabad brought exclusive stairs for the chairman.
The organisers had a an iron ladder built on war-footing that was welded with the stage container.

what good has IK doing until now?. look at KP and ask people over there and u will get the answer. by the way to get a party leader lifted by a lift to adress people. if this is the kind of organising for a leader what kind of organising will u do to the people?.
Seriously???
Imran Khan was asked why he doesn't take any more lifts and he related a famous quote by George Bush "Fall me once, shame on you... fall me twice shame on.. shame on... Well you cant be falled twice"...
I always pray for his safety and long life but he won't need long life to see how wrong he was. Pakistan needs a strong and brave man who could fight with terrorists and criminals.
lesson learnt. but he did his campaign pretty well from hospital bed, shook his head may be 20 times in the address and later got a collar. not sure the collar was due to the fall or the speech.
How about reporting on the good that IK's doing rather than slandering PTI consistently or reporting news that's totally worth less?
Seriously, this is really bad quality news reporting. Are there no better things to report?
Hahah the comment above gave me a chuckle....come on ET are you kidding me? do you really consider that news?
is that a news?
