BAHAWALPUR: “It is necessary to spread awareness amongst people to eliminate dengue fever,” District Coordination Officer Imran Sikandar Baloch said on Sunday. He was addressing a rally organised by the Health Department to observe the Dengue Day. The rally was taken out from Farid Gate to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. The DCO said the government was continuing its efforts to eliminate the dengue virus. He said the tehsil municipal authority staff had been tasked to drain water in all revenue divisions. Baloch also appealed to the people to help the government by taking precautionary measures. “Bahawalpur is dengue free. All available resources are being used to keep it dengue free,” he added. The DCO said a dengue ward had been set up in the district.
