BAHAWALPUR: As many as 545,000 children under the age of five will be administered polio drops from August 19 to August 21 in the district, Additional District Collector Chaudhry Amjad Basheer said on Sunday. He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a polio campaign at Bahawal Victoria Hospital. The ADC directed the Health Department officials to ensure that the drive was successful. “No children should be left unvaccinated,” he said. Basheer said the parents should cooperate with the vaccination teams and ensure that their children got the medication. Health EDO Ishanullah Warraich said 1,284 polio teams had been constituted. He said 1,019 of these were mobile teams, 145 fixed and 105 would administer drops at bus stands, airports and other places. “15 teams will be deployed in markets,” he said.
