LAHORE:

“The dengue fever situation is under control,” Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday.

In a statement in connection with Anti-Dengue Day, he said teams had been working round-the-clock to eliminate dengue larvae.

He said while the work being done to control dengue fever had been satisfactory, the awareness campaign should be expanded.

He said medical experts and doctors from Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand had supported the government. He said that the threat of dengue fever had been limited by adopting preventive measures.

He said the strong participation in awareness walks, seminars and workshops despite rain indicated that there was a perception about the threat of dengue and strong determination to root out the virus.
