According to police reports, the ANP candidate was shot in the head by unknown assailants inside her house in Phase I of the locality.
Police officials said they were informed half an hour after the incident since she was alone in the house. The attackers managed to escape the scene.
ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan condemned the killing and appealed to the provincial government to catch the perpetrators.
Soon after the incident, police launched a search operation in the area and arrested some suspects while her body was sent for a postmortem.
Her husband, ANP Tehsil Nazim Haneef Jadoon was earlier killed in a suicide attack in Swabi on the second day of Eidul Fitr in 2011.
At the time, he was accompanied by their two sons, a guard and a worker.

The extremist leaning government of PTI and JI in KPK should be shown the door.
from an mqm supporter, i salute you as an ANP martyr. PTI, when you start talking to the barbarians, ask them if it was necessary to kill a widow. but i wonder, if you dont have guts to condemn such barbarians acts - how would you able to gather courage to stand up in front of them and talk?
As for as JI is concerned, we should banned them as bangladesh did. that is the logical and very normal solution to them.

Pakistani hearts (especially of rightwing supporters) only ache for the detention of a foreign questionable lady Afia. There is never an outrage or dharna on the killings of whole innocent families. What have we become? Yet some still justify the atrocities of these terrorists.
People are gradually starting to realise the hollow slogans of PTI just like the other political parties.

Doesng matter what people say ANP is fightin. They deserve credit.
Sad. I respect people in ANP, MQM and PPP not because they are good leaders or good people, but because they stand up for what they believe in even though they know it will most likely get them killed. I hate reading comments saying these people deserve to die because they did not always rule well. I hope the KPK government manages to capture the perpretators of this attack and put them to justice.
