Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said, “Out of Rs2,000 billion Rs1,300 billion are used in paying back loans and the rest is spent on the military, leaving no other way but to take more loans to spend on other sectors of the country.”
He said that the country is at the verge of bankruptcy and the only way to save it is by eliminating corruption.

Isn't that what everyone already knows??
@sohail khan: Imran would never demand tax on agriculture income. PMLN promised that they will bring all income in tax net. They did not put agriculture there.
The country is being ruled by the people who earn huge sums on agriculture. Now Sharif family has entered in poultry and diary farming because it is tax free.
You will observe that no political party, except MQM demands tax on agriculture income. They rather presented a shadow budget where by putting tax on agriculture they reduced defficit and did not levy GST etc.
I appreciate your post.
IK, You have developed no industry to make any contribution to the country's economy. You benefit from the charity money donated by the hard working people of this country which funds your ranch and luxurious lifestyle along with your party expenses.

I am surprised why people do not demand to bring the farmers and agriculturists into income-tax net. whereas this community is earning very well as compared to other citizens of pakistan. They are roaming in big cars, residing in big bangalows and taking part in politicss, but they do not pay income tax.
Before teaching us Economics 101, IK should also emphasize on vices such as Moral Corruption. One of his MPAs from KPK was disqualified yesterday on charges of holding a fake degree. I am still waiting for the news that this gentleman has also been thrown out of PTI at the same time.
is pti comprised of 'the incorruptibles'?? and did anyone hear or read any pti member(s) singing the same tune as imran?
Eradicating corruption is #1 agenda of Pakistan, with corruption no policy can be effective,& we are paying price For being corrupt,..."corrupt to the bone"
Pakistan Today ++++++++++++++++++ On Monday its the economy on Tuesday its Terror on wednesday its Load shedding on Thursday its corruption....and so life goes on.
Imran Khan does not earn a single penny for Pakistan. He goes on Brit. and US tours for begging charity the account of which is not known. Veena Malik has better contribution in Pakistan's economy.
@TightPatloon: 60% budget goes to IMF and 40 % to army.
An elite class has hijacked the country. Yes its true that Zardari and Nawaz started getting loans in 1990s and still begging. They made the whole country a beggar state..
The only viable solution is to confiscate their assets along with other blood suckers. (I dont know if Imran is among them but surely he was awarded plots by Nawaz in the past; He has no right to speak.)
Sir - what have you done so far in PK? your CM was sleeping at the time of the flag hoisiting ceremony on the independence day - havent you heard 'jo sota hay wo khota hay'.....
Back to democracy and back to the talk of bankrupcy. I wonder how Musharraf made it possible to progress while involved in war on terrorism. When Nawaz left last time, we were talking about bankrupcy, he is back again and so is the talk of bankrupcy.
Ohhhh Come ON... we know everything.. we know whats going on in Pakistan already.... you were supposed to do something about it rather than telling us something we all already Know.... Shame
For sixty years no one has done anything about it. So do you think you can do something???
It is not first time he is saying it. And the solution he used to proposed was to end the US led war of terror, cut the foreign aid, rely on overseas Pakistanis for funding and increase tax base. It's unfortunate he didn't come into power. Lets how this government tackel this issue
@Ali Tipu:
I find your naivety so cuteeeeeee!! To begin with, CM KPK is a tax defaulter who upon ascending to the "Throne" of CMship, took a helicopter ride at taxpayer's expense to attend a wedding. Despite his announcement that he'd pay for this ride out of his own pocket, no receipt was ever furnished to substantiate this claim.
KPK government recently signed a $ 2 Billion energy MOU with some shady outfit called Galaxy Technologies out of Hong Kong, a company which does even maintain a proper corporate website. And then there is an extremely minuscule matter of a daring jailbreak in D.I. Khan which obviously did not get "Reported by the Media."
Is it just me or Mr. Khan besides suing people/parties for defaming his Holy persona, is now banking upon such ludicrous one liner statements just to stay in the news?
You know, we could try reducing the defense budget, that uses up a lot of our money. And making the landlords pay their taxes would probably help too. And more trade with India would probably also help.
IK has lost direction. His first priority should have been to give a model government in KPK. He should have been full time busy to ensure that the people of KPK live in peaceful and corruption free environment. Time to set priorities right, else people will loose faith in him.
Actually there has been no case reported by the media uptill now regarding corruption in KPK. Infact they are just trying to make the system transparent by intrdocung Righ to Information (RTI) act and setting up an autonomous provincial NAB/anticorruption unit. On the contrary, Nandi pur project scam, the circular debt issue in which billions are paid to a few buisenessman and the LNG deal from Qatar have been badly exposed by the media and there is still no appointed head of NAB by Nawaz Government despite repeated orders of the SC.
Unless some miracle happens to undo our mindset about corruption,we are terminally sick.
This guy always talks childish, everyone knows this since ages so what is he trying to prove to the people by repeating a well known fact.
Then please Mr Khan tell us a way to end corruption. Give us a plan. The same way you have ended corruption in KPK. Oh wait. You haven't.
Please someone tell if corruption has been eradicated from its roots in KPK?!!!
No body cares IK.. I really feel for your struggle...
I note the comment: "He said that the country is at the verge of bankruptcy..."
Mr Khan, I hate to disappoint you but it is already bankrupt and going downhill. Jinnah's vision of Pakistan has not happened and it will never happen. You should perhaps read this report which was published in 2010. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/as-pakistan-nears-bankruptcy-patience-of-foreign-lenders-wears-thin/article1321352/ After reading the above the correct phrase is "RIP, Pakistan". In 25 years time I wonder if there will be such thing as "Pakistan".
Thanks God Mr. Khan got time from talk shows and sorting out party differences and started to read national documents!
No, the only way to save this country from further fiscal disaster is for people to start paying their taxes.
Yes that's correct. End corruption in KPK at earliest.
Wow! Really, I mean was this information secret?
Imran Khan had correctly identified the problem of budget priorities. As a politician, Mr. Khan would not recommend cut in the military budget. How much can one squeeze out of eliminating corruption which is seems to be in the "genes" of South Asians.
IK, criticizing as ususal
Go ahead & eliminate corruption in KPK. Plus we all know about the deficit, thanku for sharing ure information nonetheless.
Really? Tell us something new sir!
Corruption exists in every country, people must pay their Taxes first.
khan sb please remove corruption from own party and then worry about the country please.. every day we are hearing that there are fake degree holders in your party and people like aleem khan who have been named in scandals like EOBI.. please take notice of these first and foremost
"He said that the country is at the verge of bankruptcy and the only way to save it is by eliminating corruption."
Corruption is a very big issue, and don't ever expect Pakistan's politicians to become honest in their lifetime. The biggest, the best and the easiest way Pakistan can upgrade the country's "standards" to some extent, is to increase tax net on the upper middle classes and more than that, the country needs to make it a point to COLLECT those taxes from every single individual. When Pakistanis try to find faults in India, they should also try to look at the positive things about India. There are not many in the vast country of India who can get away without paying taxes. Efficient and timely collection of taxes is just one of the things towards a better future, but it is one step that can make a significant impact and can turn the tides of time. If the government can't do it by itself, hire the "good Talibanis" to get the people to pay!
I think even a schoolboy knows that. The real question is "how? ". Anyway preparing for a Tsunami by PTI fanbois praising the "beloved leader" for his "bold and 100% true" nuggets.
