LAHORE: A polio vaccination campaign will start in 21 districts of the Punjab from August 19. The campaign would focus on children living squatter settlements. An official of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) told The Express Tribune that as many as 17,800,000 children would be vaccinated. He said a second phase of the campaign would focus on the remaining 16 districts.   “The government is committed to eradicating polio from the province. Some districts of south Punjab have been selected to achieve 90 per cent vaccination. The EPI teams will vaccinate children at bus stops, railway stations, schools and basic health units. Mobile teams will also go door to door to achieve the desired vaccination percentage,” he said.
