Reckless driving: One killed amid festivities

According an eye witness a jeep hit two motorcyclists in front of Ojhri Camp and fled the scene.

ISLAMABAD: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured on Tuesday in Faizabad after being hit by a vehicle. According to Imran Sami, an eye witness, around 1:10am, a jeep packed with youngsters chanting Independence Day slogans hit two motorcyclists in front of Ojhri Camp and fled the scene. He said both motorcyclists fell and one hit his head on an electricity pole. “I went to his aid and saw his battered body. He was bleeding profusely and died immediately,” he said. The 30-year-old victim, a car mechanic and resident of Pirwadhai, was taken to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, by the passersby where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, according to Waqas Ahmad, a Rescue-1122 official, they received a distress call from Faizabad but by the time they reached the scene of accident the victim had been moved to the hospital.
