Brutality: Eight-year-old raped ‘by relative’

A case has been registered against the suspect under Sections 365 and 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

BAHAWALPUR: An eight-year-old girl was raped on Tuesday allegedly by a relative. Abbas Nagar police said a case had been registered against the suspect under Sections 365 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code. They said they were looking for the suspect. Police said the girl, a resident of Chak 4-BC near Abbas Nagar, was kidnapped from in front of her house. She was taken to a nearby field and raped. Some passers-by rescued her. They said the rapist fled, but identified him as a relative of the girl. She was taken to the rural health centre, from where she was later sent to Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
