
Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Owais Muzaffar, while declaring rain emergency in Karachi, has directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) to use all available resources to drain out stagnant rainwater and clean the storm water drains.
The local government minister also directed the KMC administrator, the KWSB managing director and the municipal commissioner to personally monitor the situation. He warned that if stagnant rainwater was found anywhere on the streets, strict action would be taken against the negligent officers. He also directed the KWSB MD to establish his camp office at Civic Centre for better cooperation with the KMC.
