Negligence: 27 cops suspended

Pakistan Railways spokesperson said the personnel were found guilty of negligence.

FAISALABAD: Railway Circle police Sub-Inspector Nisar Ahmad, Moharrar Rana Wakeel and 25 other policemen were suspended on Sunday for negligence and delinquency.

Pakistan Railways spokesman Ahmad Nawaz told the media that “a child had died and 30 people were injured when a bomb exploded on the Karachi-bound Shalimar Express on August 5, 2013.”

He said the railway police personnel were found guilty of negligence in a departmental inquiry. “Taking notice, Special Branch Railway Additional Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Ameer Hussain Shah suspended the SI, Moharrar Rana Wakeel and 25 others from Chiniot Shorkot Circle.”
