In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Jan Achakzai, JUI-F chief said the offer to hold dialogue was not positively taken by the previous government, adding that talks with the Taliban should form an important component of the country's anti-terrorism strategy.
He asked the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government to acknowledge the offer and reciprocate by explicitly declaring that it wanted to engage with the Taliban.
Asserting that any external pressure on the government against the talks should be rejected, he said that it doesn't make sense to shun these talks particularly since the US was seeking a dialogue with the Afghan Taliban.
Fazlur Rehman said that the talks could not be conducted by any individual or a single party.
"There is already a local conflict mechanism established - the system of jirga which can be supported by the national political leadership," he said.

Alsalamoalaikum.... Let me clear you all that Maulvi Fazlur Rehman is not the face of islam rather he tried to perish the true face of islam.
@ModiFied: and are they going to appoint Maulana as their "Ameer-ul-momineen"?.O dear me!!
@Kimbo: @syed:
I don't think its surprising that such non-moderate exclusive far right-wing religious Sunni Islamist party leaders, such as Munawar Hasan or Fazlur Rehman, would support, rationalize or sympathize with these various Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband/Sunni extremist militant groups and would want to talk to them. A sizeable Pak public sphere has been ceded to them and this narrative is a given and the history is out in the open.
What is unfortunate, however, is how some large appealing mainstream Sunni Pakistani leaders such as Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan, who despite being right-wing are considered relatively 'moderate' and not overtly symbolically religious (ignoring limitations in ethnic appeal or many instances of religiosity pandering and actions historically), would do so too.
Is government of pakistan that weak that they have to negotiate with the killers these so called terrorist should b eliminated including their well wishers they do not follow Islam they have created their own version of releigon these coward people have no respect for women and children against the teaching of Islam once again time has come to eliminate them with force and their punishment should b dumping them on Arabian ocean
What are the demands of Taliban/ttp. My guess..
Release of all prisoners demanded by TTP. If you dont release them, we will come and get them DI Khan jail break style. No security action against TTP men and the areas they control.i think those would be two main demands that would give some time to TTP to strenthen themselves and establish there writ on the areas they control in return for a 6-month break on any bombings.
Two guys talibans want to talk are the leaders of Sunni religious parties. No sane person would talk to terrorists killing innocent men women and children. These butchers even kidnap women from the jail. You can't negotiate with the devil. It's a sad reality that these so called leaders would negotiate with them
Every time I hear something coming from Fazlu, it seems pro-TTP. I hate his anti-Pakistan approach. He feels nothing about the human beings killed everyday in Pakistan and thinks more about TTP. I regrett such type of people have achieved prominent position is political system of Pakistan.
This is a classic example about ET agenda. Giving coverage to enemies of pakistan
Recent Taliban victories over our security forces has shown us this day that we are forced to tolerate such stupid statements.
Do not under any circumstances legitimize the terrorist activities of the TTP. They are nothing but a terror network that's operating inside Pakistan for their own benefit (Which includes all the funding and weaponry that they receive). They have no true political or religious agenda, the Islam rhetoric is only there to gain local support and sympathy. Pakistan needs to deal with them as we would deal with any foreign combatants on our soil, with swift and precise military action. It's about time to take the fight back to them!
First step towards Taliban rule in Pakistan.. take my words, its bound to happen sooner or later.
Maulana Diesel, please add one more line, "Their killing of Pakistanis is also in right direction, so you get regularly HALWA to eat"
