The newly elected President of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Prof. Masood Hameed Khan has vowed to comply with the council’s constitution.


Prof. Hameed addressed a press conference and said that he will not be pressurised to compromise the goals of PMDC’s constitution. Prof. Hameed, who is also serving as the vice chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), expressed his gratitude to the PMDC members for electing him. “All our efforts would be focused on retaining highest standards in medical education,” said Prof. Hameed.

While discussing PMDC’s future plans, he announced the formation of new PMDC cells in Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Abbottabad and Muzaffarabad.

These cells will address the problems faced by the doctors working in the remote areas of the country. He said, his top priority will be facilitation of doctors and all stake holders and he will streamline the registration process of doctors and faculty.

“A new system of software connected to a mobile sim (0304-8734851) will be launched to auto-direct complaint and suggestion emails to the concerned authorities including, president, vice president and the executive members.”

Prof. Hameed promised to computerise all sections making optimum use of information technology.
