Addressing a press conference in Quetta alongside Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Malik Baloch, he said, "13 years of mistakes can't be rectified in one day."
Nisar said if building such a policy was a simple matter, he would have announced it in a day.
"Even America took a year coming up with their security policy after the events of 9/11... let us do our homework first," he said, claiming that merely developing a policy would not curb terrorism.
"Implementation is difficult as there is no coordination between various law enforcing agencies," he said.
"For Balochistan, we will bring a new security policy," Nisar said, adding that the Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Kiyani had agreed to train police officials on an urgent basis.
Asserting that the ongoing "war" was Balochistan and Pakistan's combined, Nisar said that 15,000 security personnel will be provided to the province.
Bringing the address to a close, he said "I pay tribute to the martyrs and the deceased who have lost their lives in the recent attacks and we want to assure everyone that an investigation is underway."
Most recent attacks in Quetta, the capital of oil- and gas-rich Balochistan province bordering Afghanistan and Iran, have been linked to a Baloch separatist insurgency or sectarian violence.

This is most unfortunate for the entire nation. A bunch of influential political families do not do any thing which could provide peaceful and respectful living to a common man of this country. They are working on this agenda for the last 65 years. They have inherited from their elders that prosperity of poor people shall be a direct threat to their survival. Ch. Nisar belongs to same breed. So reference of Past or Present is meaningless. They shall formulate the NS Policy but then nothing would happen. Let us wait for some Reformer like Nelson Mandela for the down-troden masses. Inallah ha ma'assabreen.
Chaudhry Nisar. You are such a joke. If you have any time available after trying day and night to get your favorite thanedars installed across the country then you might be ready to formulate a national security policy
Wait wait wait, I thought these were the "mature" politicians. People want IK to join the APC when these haven't even gotten started on a policy. PMLN voters are the biggest idiots on the planet.
This is in Urdu but very pertinent;
This Su Moto
TTP is very clear about its terror policy and implementing it with vehemence.
@Khurram CommonSense: How will you enforce such a ban in Karachi itself which has no o areas - forget FATA/Jhang/Muridke
What he means is patience for 5 years which is not bad as the damage these brilliant and highly experienced guys are mending is of 13 years! The nation of Pakistan specially Punjab need to be patient. Besides, they sure will get qeemay walay naan for free during the next election campaigns... Fingers crossed!!
I agree with statement of minis ter.13 years of instability cannot be rectified in a month or so.however govt should urgently prepare concensuses to eradicate terrorism.
so what happened to experience
patience until it happen in Lahore ???
These guys are worse than the last ones, they should had something before coming in power. Now we see Nawaz sharif running behind USA and worse behind KSA who claimed they are participants in pakistan's policies.
The myth of good governance is broken! Within just 3 months of power: * Ishaq Dar sells the country to IMF, no taxes on the rich, GST hiked * Shahbaz Sharif made chotta by the chotta gang * Ch. Nisar goes into hibernation after failing to curtail lawlessness * 500 billion thrown away to Mian Munshas and the power outage continues * Electricity rates increased * Nawaz Sharif does Saudi Yatra, while the country drowns, and bleeds * Relations with India deteriorate * Khawaja Asif - Corruption scandals in power projects, circular debt retirement * Unconstitutional election of the President * U-turn on MQM only for votes * Nepotism and Cronyism - (Ex British Parliamentarian who resigned after financial irregularities made governor Punjab) * Family members present in high level confidential meetings without taking the oath of secrecy in blatant disregard of the constitution * Running the country like a family owned mafia
It's been long time Ch-sahib, were have been hiding, we have sighted Moon and celebrated Eid also buried so many heros and countrymen, what about all the speeches you use to make against RM.
I would have seen how you call for patience, if the deaths were not common man but someone from your family.... been three months and you and your government still has to move even an inch towards rectification of the problems...
really? what about tall claims about everything before election ?
Give the man a chance. Ch Nisar is right, about thinking things through first, rather than jumping straight into the fray. This matter is complicated, full of misconceptions and wild theories and has continued for over a decade without respite. So the solution is not quick and easy. There's no point rushing it...provided that the time is used productively, and thought and planning go into the solution. Hold him to task if and when his strategies fail.
People's Party spent its five years tenure giving this excuse, and now this government is playing the same card. If they know they are incapable what urges them to contest elections and come into power.
"Asserting that the ongoing “war” was Balochistan and Pakistan’s combined"
So lame to say this ?!?? Isn't this be obvious to every Pakistan???
@Ali Tipu: To be honest, the previous government wasn't this bad. At least it was clear about its position on terrorism. The current government is totally clueless, or in other words too soft to their militant allies.
Ch. Nisar! At least tell us the salient features of your (in)security policy. Show us the current draft, or the meeting minutes. The truth is that you got nothing, may be you were the one in 60 day aitikaf.
People are dying for last 10 years,,this is not patience???
Minister's statement is not new and Everyday Newspapers are full of such statements, We condemn this, We are sad on loss, We are doing our best, We are united against it, We are taking it serious ..... Etc Unfortunately, Pakistan is being governed by Incompetent Government as always! Talented people are leaving and serving other countries with plans of no return! Who will be left here, only Ignorant and incompetent people....? And govt will be selected from such people? Is it bright future?
Ch. Sahib is wrong and ignorant. Americans declared war within a month and special operations were started much sooner.
what a stupid.. pathetic... Cruel.. illogical.. irresponsible and childish statement!
go to the people who's near and dear are died in blasts and tell them to have patience.. then see what they will do to you!
"Let us do our homework first," Interior Minister pleads.' +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ While the Taliban do their class work and Jail break work.
Imran Khan is right. This govt is Zardari part 2.
Easy for him to say as his family is not dying neither are Punjabis mostly.
Army train police??? It is army who need training for failing on all fronts despite gobbling up a huge budget. Police would do wonders if given access to 10% of that budget.
Yes, citing America as an example would be a non-starter since even after 1 year I do not believe the current government can get the security situation under control like "America".
Yes, Chaudhry Nisar Ali is making excuses now since prior to elections or during the PPP term, PML-N was indeed not doing their homework and Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan should begin with an apology or resign to show he and his party are incapable of admitting that such a policy was not priority one for them before elections.
How about we (including the media) have our politicians be held accountable to metrics that the politicians are allowed to set. How about we ask Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan to say how many terrorists will be killed, apprehended and found guilty on a monthly basis once he has had time to form his policy? Do you think he will be ready to make a firm commitment?
An opposition is a government in-waiting. When they were in opposition and were claiming to coming in power after the May elections why did not they prepare policy about the terrorism. Now they are just wasting time.
He wants us to wait until he does his homework. What if he is an autistic, it would take him an eternity to complete his homework. Judging by his previous political and social experience, his CV surely sets alarm bells around.
This guy is the biggest hypocrite ! He wouldn't let any opportunity pass with the previous government in using the loss of lives as a complete and utter failure of the PPP gov and now he is pleading for patience whilst we witness the most ferocious terrorist assault on the citizens of Pakistan under his watch !
Patience costs lives minister sahib. While you are escorted by hundreds, the poor are left at the mercy of your call for patience. You should have had a policy before the elections, not ad hoc as you go along, after all you knew what was happening. You and your team will be held responsible if any more lives are lost, for your indolent lapses.
So he finally shows up after 20 blasts. No policy YET and still the PM spent more than a week in Jeddah leaving his nation in all the more chaotic state. He can take as much as he wants but the fact is given the incompetenace of these guys, they are not going to achieve anything substaintial whatsoever. It's just like what happened in the past 5 years. Correct me if I am wrong but I think Baochistan doesnt even have a cabinet, right? That just prerrty much sums up about their abilities.
you guys need time to do homework? You couldnot stop whinning about 'experience' and how there were no suicide attacks in their tenure . I can see another failing govt right here.
