A group of angry residents took to the streets following the funeral. They burnt tyres on the road and shouted slogans against the police. The protesters demanded action against those officials involved in the incident.
The mob dispersed after negotiations between the police and elders of the area. The police assured the protesters that they will conduct an inquiry.
The deceased, 23-year-old Muhammad Imran Siddiqui was killed on Monday within the jurisdiction of Sharifabad police station. Residents also protested on Monday when they blocked the road with the victim’s body. Imran was a resident of 55/3, FC area and was a father of one child.
Meanwhile, shopkeepers of Bhora Pir also staged a demonstration to protest the murder of Shayam, who was killed on Monday by unidentified men. Shayam was sitting with his friend Ameen at Aftab Electric store in Bhora Peer Sheesha Market when he was killed.
