Suspected Terrorist: TTP leader killed in police encounter

Police have found jihadi literature, weapons and a motorcycle from the criminal’s possession.

KARACHI: A suspected commander of the Taliban’s target killing squad, Zohaibur Rehman, was killed in an alleged police encounter at Sohrab Goth on Tuesday evening. It was reported that the police spotted Rehman, who hails from South Waziristan, and his two companions at Ghazi Kanta, Sohrab Goth’s industrial area. SHO Naeem Khan told The Express Tribune that the police was in the area as they had received information about the presence of suspects. Firing was reportedly initiated by Rehman and his companions after which the police fired back, killing Rehman. His two companions, however, managed to escape. The police said that they have found jihadi literature, weapons and a motorcycle from the criminal’s possession. Rehman was wanted by the police in a number of target killing cases in Sohrab Goth and its neighbourhood.
